Sometimes the hardest relationship we'll ever have is the one with ourselves.

Individual Therapy  Gold Coast

Sometimes you're carrying more than anyone realises. Sometimes you've spent so long looking after everyone else that you've forgotten what you need. Or maybe you've simply reached a point where the strategies that once worked... don't anymore.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship challenges or a significant life transition, individual therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of your experiences and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

At Ritual, we believe therapy shouldn't feel intimidating or overly clinical. It should feel like a conversation that helps you better understand yourself, your relationships and the life you're trying to build.

Life isn't always easy.

→ You're exhausted, even after a full night's sleep.
→ Your mind never seems to switch off.
→ You're constantly overthinking conversations long after they've happened.
→ You keep putting everyone else's needs before your own.
→ You're wondering why the same patterns keep showing up in your relationships.
→ You've recently been diagnosed with ADHD and suddenly everything makes a little more sense.
→ You've experienced something difficult and can't seem to move forward.
→ You're functioning on the outside, but inside you're barely holding things together.
→ Or perhaps you can't quite explain what's wrong. You just know something needs to change.

You might be here because...

One of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that you have to be in crisis before you ask for help. You don't.

Many people come to therapy because they're functioning.
They're going to work.
Looking after their family.
Doing all the things they're "supposed" to do.
But underneath it all, they're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck or simply not like themselves.

Therapy isn't about labelling you.
It's about creating space to better understand your experiences, your relationships, your nervous system and the patterns that have shaped the way you move through the world.

Because awareness creates choice. And choice creates change.

Therapy isn't about fixing you.

Understanding attachment patterns, boundaries and the relationships shaping your life.

anxiety & Overthinking

We commonly support people experiencing...

No two people are the same.
Your therapy shouldn't be either.

Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema therapy, attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed practice, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), family systems thinking and mindfulness-based approaches.

Rather than applying one model to every client, we tailor therapy to your goals, personality and lived experience.

Our Approach

A different way of thinking about mental health

We don't see people as problems to solve.
We see people in context.
Your relationships.
Your family.
Your experiences.
Your culture.
Your work.
Your nervous system.

All of these influence the way you experience the world.
Sometimes symptoms make perfect sense when we understand the story behind them.

Our role is to help you make sense of that story, not reduce you to a diagnosis.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. That's completely normal.

Your first session is simply an opportunity to get to know one another.
We'll explore what's brought you to therapy, what's happening in your life right now, what you'd like support with and what you hope will be different moving forward.

There isn't any pressure to have all the answers.
We'll work at a pace that feels right for you.

No. You can book directly with us at any time. If you'd like to access a Medicare rebate, you'll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.

Can therapy help if I don't know what's wrong?

CLOSE

Absolutely. Many people begin therapy because they know they don't feel like themselves, even if they can't explain exactly why.

Can you help with ADHD?

CLOSE

Yes. We support many adults navigating ADHD, whether you've recently been diagnosed, have lived with ADHD for years or are simply curious about how neurodivergence may be influencing your relationships, work and wellbeing.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

CLOSE

Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based approaches including EMDR, attachment-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practice and family systems thinking.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals and preferences.

How many sessions will I need?

CLOSE

Everyone's goals are different.

Some people come to therapy for support through a particular life event, while others choose to work more deeply over time.

During your first few sessions, we'll discuss your goals and recommend a pace that feels right for you.

Do you offer online counselling?

CLOSE

Yes.
We offer both in-person appointments from our Bundall clinic and secure online therapy across Australia.
